Hi Sarah,

I just wanted to make you aware of this potential internship opportunity for an ES student. If you or other faculty members know of any students who are still looking for summer internships, please send them my way. As you can see in the note below from the gentleman (who is a parent of a current Gettysburg student), this isn’t a definite yet, and they are also hoping to find a student who lives close enough to Red Bank, NJ. However, we do have some funding available to help students defray costs for housing, transportation, etc., so we can work with any student who expresses interest. I realize there isn’t any real information on the intern’s duties yet, and I will share that once I get more from them. The organization is an engineering consulting group, so I assume this might be dealing with environmental impact studies related to building projects.

Dear Kathy:

I anticipate that our firm will be hiring an intern for the summer to work in our ecological group in the Red Bank , NJ corporate office. A decision will be made in approximately a month as the weather gets better and the group understands its workload better. The position would be paid.

I wanted to know if any of the Gettysburg students who are majoring in environmental studies and are looking for work this summer in their field live within an hour of the Red Bank office. If there are no students that live within that radius around the office, it would probably not be feasible for them to seek the position unless they had family or friends that live close to the office that they could stay with.

Please let me know if there are students that live in close proximity that would be interested. Thanks.
